18 DECEMBER 2019 – Asir Rayis receive in Baghdad
Asir Rayis, an Iraqi resident of the hospice, has left Russia for his home country.
More than five years ago he fled war-torn Iraq and found himself in Russia with no papers, job or place to live. After years of hardships he came to us. As his refugee claim was rejected, we helped him to obtain a temporal passport, bought him a plane ticket to his homeland and found the people to receive him in Baghdad.
Asir is back home at the moment. Father Martin Banny and the parishioners are looking after him.
